In the School of Science and Technology, Singapore (SST), technology is integral to the core curriculum which is the foundation that creates space for new ways of teaching, learning and social interaction to take place.

While a robust backbone infrastructure (such as accessibility to the internet and availability of devices) is essential to create a 1-to-1 ICT-enabled learning experience, the belief of the institution and the approach it takes, determines how successful the implementation would be.

This presentation will show how SST has successfully leveraged its 1-to-1 ICT-enabled programme to incorporate student–directed learning (SDL) and collaborative learning (CoL) in the design of learning experiences in class and at home. This would be illustrated through several lessons implemented by teachers who have creatively and successfully leveraged the easily available Web 2.0 technologies like Google Apps and Blogs to support teaching and learning.
